Hi,

Since getting a webmaster to follow me on all my different projects is almost impossible, I will post the info and pics on my medical missions here on the blog. I will try to make it as pleasant looking as possible. I am like a year and a half behind and will try to catch up on all the medical missions I have attended as all had great stories and people.

Today, I want to share with you the medical mission I attended in Tequila, Mexico in october 2008.

All right, so we have a go! I can upload pictures and tell you about the medical mission in Tequila, Mexico.

Since, I am joining the Austin medical mission group Texas, I needed to arrive one day earlier in Guadalajara, Mexico. I got a ride from the airport from Georgia and Tino two Americans now living in Mexico. Although they kindly offered me to stay at their house, I had already made arragments to stay at the El Tapatio Hotel for the night. The staff was friendly and my room was huge.

After a nice hot shower (the last one for a week! ), a great 5$ club sandwich, I took a long night of sleep.

In the morning, Georgia and Toni came to get me and we went to meet with the group from Texas. It is always a pleasure to see my friends again. We were a group of about 30 people composed of nurses, dentists, doctors, one chiropractor, translators and support staff.

The dentists were held up at customs for three hours as the customs agents were concerned they could be bringing in instruments to sell them.

After a nice ride on the bus catching-up with my friends we arrived in Tequila.

We then settled in the palce where we were going to sleep for the week. Francisco Perez, a member of our team is from Tequila and his extended family was our host. We ate like kings!

On the first day of the medical mission, we stayed in Tequila. The pace was very moderate compared to what we are used to so we had time to get together with the group.

I was shocked to realize that I had seen in one day seven cases of cerebral palsy!

Dr Rick Barrett, our chiropractor, was very busy and for lack of space, we needed to set-up his office on the second floor. Rick always accepted my requests with a gracious smile when I asked him to come down and treat a patient that was in a wheelchair. Everytime, he just brought his treatment table down and worked on whoever needed it.

When I go on medical missions, I attend to the children and women under 35 years old as I have not seen adults in my practice with such conditions as diabetes and high blood pressure in many years.

Natural childbirth can be safe!

November 10th, 2008

I am also in no way advocating an interventionist approach to maternity and childbirth. Mother nature recognizes her ways better than we do.
people have to realize that physicians and nurses are not the sole responsible for the high rate of intervention in obstetric today. How many times did I have to calm down adult females who demanded to be induced one month ahead because they were tired of being pregnant? I still can’t get over the time a husband almost jumped at us saying: “My wife has been having contractions every five minutes for over an hour. Do something!” A nurse later asked me: “Didn’t he read the “brochure?” that first infants take usually twelve of hours to be born.
On the other hand, I am happy that such aberration as caesareans on demand have not found many followers in the medical community.
Getting back to our strong couple who decided to live a great adventure on their own because they know what is best for their infant and they reject any external support, I can tell you that yes most natural childbirths are statistically due to go well. On the other hand, when things go bad, I would not want to be in their place. Are they really selecting what is best for their infant or more an cool experience that will prove them they are able to pull such a stunt?

Mexico 2008: Tequila!

October 17th, 2008

It is one of these night when I try to do one thing on my computer onky to realize that I need to download this and that program…only to find out that I need the other program…only to find out that after 8 hours of this non-sense I have accomplished NOTHING!

In order to change my luck I want to post about the recent medical mission I had the pleasure to do in october 2008 with the Austin medical mission team. I am trying to upload all the info onto my blog because I have been experiencing difficulties getting a solid webmaster service and got so far behind.

In order not to “jinx” it , I will upload and save frequently my text so I don’t have to re-write the entire page because I have a hunch that this is the way my day has been going around (in circle.LOL) so far.

Acne solution and (acne treatment)

September 14th, 2008

I have been busy working on my regular sites like www.blastacne.com for acne treatment .

Acne Solution

Shake and mix 8 oz of distilled or floral water, 2 drops of lavender essential oil, 1 drop of palmarosa essential oil and 1 drop of rosewood essential oil in a plastic bottle. This instantly becomes an anti-acne astringent and toner which you can directly apply on your problem areas using a cotton ball. Gently apply on the entire face and neck but be careful to avoid your eyes.
