You cannot help everyone…even if you wanted to

December 7th, 2010

here is a copy of the email I sent to my group once we got back from Nicaragua.

Hi to all,

I trust that you had a smooth return home.

I wanted to explain a little the situation that happened. I saw during the clinic a small boy that was over a year and a half. His mother had abandonned him and a lady from the village was taking care of him. He had stopped eating a while ago and now was presenting with severe malnutrition and could not walk or use his left arm which was getting stiff and did not talk ( he also looked very depressed) . I showed him to Rudy who confirmed that this child had severe malnutrition and almost no muscles left. His spine was sticking out of his skin. The lady who took care of him said she had no money to feed him.

At the last dinner, I told father Rito about the little boy (who will die within a couple of days or weeks if nothing is done) and he said he could help. He asked me if I remembered his name!!!

During our short night at the seminare, I saw the little boy’s face very clearly and he was mouthing “Ayuda me (help me)”

This is the reason I was “intense” in wanting  to go through the files in our last bus ride and see if I could remember. Eric was of great help on the bus ( he did ask me if I remembered the number of the file though.LOL). Then I realized I could bring the registration files home and take time to go through them.

In short:
I have gone through the registration papers three times!
I now know I saw 688 patients during our five days of clinic. For those of you from Florida who want a recount, the files will be back at Tino’s soon.

I have narrowed it down to one or two registration file that I think is for the boy. I have called father Rito and am waiting for his answer back as he is right now in Nicaragua. Time is of essense!

I will keep you posted on this.

Now I know that missions do not stop when we get back

Big cold canadian hug,
Nathie xxxx

P.s. The first night I got back home, I got awakened by a phone call for a delivery and thought for sure I was still at the seminare so I answered in spanish.

unfortunately, even though i called and email what seams to me like the entire nation from Nicaragua I got nowhere. I never heard back from the little boy and got an email saying that a girl had died since we did our mission less than two months ago which is current there…

Credit Repair Tips

In some cases, bad Credit Rating is a result of irresponsible cash management. But itfrequentlyoccurs because of unexpectedmonetary hardship. One day you might have all of your bills ongoing, and the next you could become impaired or lose yourwork. And if you fall behind on your debts, it will wreak havoc on your Credit Rating rating.

Credit Fix agencies claim that they can remove tough entries from your Credit report. But did you know that you can frequently have them taken yourself at a much smaller cost? There are two methods by which you may be able to get negative entries removed from your report.

Option #1: File a Dispute with the Credit Bureaus

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires Credit bureaus to inquire any item on your Credit report that you Challenge. If the information is found to be false, inaccurate or unverifiable, it must be corrected or removed from your report. The bureaus have 30 days from the time they get notice of the Dispute to complete their investigation.

If there is any wrong info on your Credit report, a Dispute is certainly in order. But some people have had luck challenging items that were in fact accurate, including judgments, collections accounts and repossessions. If such items are not verified by the creditor (or the court in the case of judgments) within the time limit for investigation, they must be removed.

If you decide to Dispute a sound entry, simply write a letter to each of the Credit bureaus stating that you Dispute that entry. No explanation is required. But keep in mind that if the entry is verified, it will remain on your report. And if the creditor verifies the info after the 30-day time limit, the Credit bureau may reinstate the entry as long as they notify you at least 5 days before doing so.

Option #2: Negotiate with creditors

Dealing withfinancors can be intimidating, especially if you’re not on good terms with them. But speaking to your creditors directly may help you get negative information removed from your Credit report.

If you only have a late payment or two on your report, a creditor might be willing to remove the derogatory info once you’ve resumed a regular defrayment schedule. If you’ve experienced repossession or had an account turned over to collections, payment in full might persuade them to remove the negative entry. It sounds like a long shot, but you never know until you ask. Requests to remove late payment information may be made after you’ve brought you report ongoing. But if you’re hoping for removal of a repossession or collection action, it’s best to negotiate a deal before you pay anything.

If You Can’t Get the tough Entries removed

There is no guarantee that disputing info on your Credit Rating report or negotiating with financors will get negative items taken from your record. If it doesn’t, the best thing you can do is try to build up some positive info on your report.

The first thing you need to do when trying to rebuild good Credit Rating is bring past due accounts current. Try to work out a deal with your financors to accomplish this, or talk to a Credit counseling agency. But don’t miss payments on ongoing accounts to put money toward those that are past due. If it comes down to paying one or the other, keep the current account current.

Another good way to have credit is to get the greatest health insurances.

Once you’ve brought all of your accounts ongoing, put a priority on keeping them that way. Making yourpayment on schedule will raise your Credit Rating score, and with the passage of time, the good entries may outweigh the tough.

Breastfeeding your infant

April 13th, 2010

6) Talk to your infant’s father and your family. Be sure to communicate to your family how strongly you feel about Nursing. Sell them on the benefits so they’ll support you.

7) Learn to breastfeed in public. Breastfeeding author Amy Spangler says: "I encourage young women, if they have a comfort level doing so to please breastfeed their infants wherever they are because until we get that critical mass of women doing just that, we are not going to change the attitudes of the general public." Practice latching infant on in front of a mirror so you can learn to do so discreetly.
