Medical mission in Mexico in 2007

There is so much to be said but again time is pressuring me so I will tell you the most important events that happened during this medical mission.

Dr Elaine Martel and nurse Isabelle Bédard from Canada joined me for their first medical mission.

A typical Mexican house with half a roof (people complete the work whenever they find the money).

During a mission day, we all get busy.

Curious children love to watch us work
Our chiropractor Dr Rick Barrett literally works miracles. Here, he helped an elderly woman get out of the wheel chair she has been in for many years walk again. She followed Rick all around the mission!

I actually signed-up for my first medical mission after hearing Rick give a conference on the missions he was doing. I immediately liked the one week format being a mother of four and participated on my first mission a couple of months later. I have been attending many missions since then and it is always a pleasure.
When doing medical missions, we sometimes encounter rougher living conditions like no electricity, no current water and we sleep on the floor. The one thing I do not like is when I have to share the floor with other beings!

I enjoy very much taking care of children.

On a medical mission, we get to really meet the people and to understand their living conditions by sharing their experience. I enjoy very  much the countryside of Mexico and the warm climate.

It was during this medical mission in Mexico that my dream of helping more came to life. I wanted to help build a school for the people living in a very isolated and poor community called “La Gloria”. That project in itself will require at least one page…to be continued!
